The existing print works building had been in the family for years. Our brief was to turn the building into a home, with some very specific requirements.
The client was a car enthusiast and collector, so wanted the property to have space to park 6 cars, including his prized car, which was to be parked within the main hall location. Conscious of keeping the ‘print works’ feel, the interior featured white painted block finished walls, stained timber and an exposed steel structure.
Carefully designed window pods to the front of the building along with the glazed atrium allowed the natural light to pour into the building, whilst keeping privacy. The open plan interior design allows for maximum light sharing throughout the living space. The exterior of the building was finished with natural Red Cedar cladding, with white painted course rendered walls below, complemented with a slate roof to ensure the materials were sympathetic to the surroundings.
